A Message from NBN Founder Marshall Poe
I’m happy to say that we’ve just passed the 20,000-episode milestone. The NBN is the largest podcast network in the world in terms of number of episodes published. This is hard for me to believe. I remember when I published the first interview on January 26, 2008.
We are building a remarkable educational resource, one available to everyone, all over the world, for free. The only similar resource I can think of is Wikipedia. This is not by accident. You may (or may not) know that long ago in another life I wrote an article about the founding and growth of Wikipedia. When I founded the NBN, I had the experience of Wikipedia in mind.
In terms of “mind share” and audience, we aren’t Wikipedia. But we’re getting there. One day, I hope that every curious person out there will automatically think to check the NBN library.
All of our success in achieving our mission of public education is due to the generous work of the hosts and the guests. Interviews about new books are the heart and soul of NBN. Thank you.
